Restoring hope through compassionate rehabilitation and care

Our Story

In his years of physiotherapy practice, Dr. Shaji Thomas witnessed a recurring and heartbreaking pattern: patients who managed to undergo emergency surgeries or life-saving treatments, but were unable to complete their recovery — simply because they couldn’t afford rehabilitation.
Post-surgical physiotherapy and long-term care are critical for restoring independence, mobility, and dignity. Yet, many patients — especially those from underprivileged backgrounds — are forced to skip this vital phase due to financial hardship. The impact is especially devastating when the patient is the family’s primary breadwinner. Recovery from conditions like stroke, paralysis, or spinal injury can take months or even years — and without proper support, families are left struggling, often in silence.
Rehabilitation remains one of the most overlooked aspects of healthcare in India. While many in the physiotherapy community have offered free services, sustainable, quality care needs time, resources, and infrastructure.
Recognizing this urgent gap, Dr. Shaji and a group of like-minded professionals and trustees came together to form Care Hive Foundation — a dedicated initiative to provide accessible, affordable, and compassionate rehabilitation support to those who need it most.
Our mission also includes long-term care for bedridden patients and those living with chronic conditions such as kidney failure or cardio-pulmonary ailments, especially those without adequate financial or social support.
At Care Hive, we believe recovery should not be a privilege — it should be a right.
